Job summary

TeacherActive Limited in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking a HLTA to support a SEND setting, delivering vocational courses such as joinery, carpentry, brickwork, plastering, and motor vehicle studies. The role requires resilience and patience and a qualified HLTA or above.

The successful candidate will work with SEMH pupils, build confidence and practical skills, and develop home/school relationships. Salary is £100-£150 per day, start ASAP, paid PAYE.

• Experience in at least one of the above vocational avenues
• Experience working with children from an SEMH background
• Deliver hands on, practical learning
• Be confident in developing home / School relationships
• Be able to create a calm, supportive environment for learners
• Have a special interest in working with vulnerable young people

I am proud to be looking for a HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant based in Stoke to support a SEND setting with their vocational courses. The setting works with children with SEMH needs (Social, Emotional, Mental Health), who require additional support. The successful HLTA will play a crucial role in building these young peoples confidence, practical skills and engagement with learning.

The successful HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant will be delivering a range of practical vocational subjects such as Joinery / carpentry, brickwork, plastering, Motor Vehicle studies.

The successful HLTA / Higher Level Teaching Assistant will have:

• Minimum HLTA Qualification (ECTs / QTS also welcome to apply)
