Job summary

TeacherActive is currently recruiting experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants / HLTAs and Senior Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply and long-term contracts across Bristol, Swindon, Somerset and Wiltshire from September 2026.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or substantial experience at higher/senior TA level.

• Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Lead learning activities and cover lessons as required.

TeacherActive is currently recruiting experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistants / HLTAs and Senior Teaching Assistants for day-to-day supply and long-term contract opportunities across Bristol, Swindon, Somerset and Wiltshire from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in pupil support. You may deliver pre-planned learning activities, provide short-term class cover, lead small-group interventions, support assessment and work closely with teachers and SEND teams to remove barriers to learning. You will model high expectations, promote positive behaviour and help pupils develop confidence and independence.

Our consultants combine real classroom experience with in-depth recruitment expertise, meaning you'll receive practical support and honest guidance throughout your journey.

Opportunities will be available from September 2026 and may range from individual day-to-day bookings to long-term contracts providing greater continuity within one school.

• A recognised HLTA qualification or substantial experience operating at a higher or senior Teaching Assistant level
