Job summary

Gold Education Recruitment is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Braintree, Essex. The role covers classroom support, delivering pre-planned lessons and wraparound care, with hours 9:00am-6:00pm or 11:00am-6:00pm.

You will work alongside teachers to support children across Key Stage 1 and 2, lead small-group interventions, manage behaviour, and help maintain a positive, safe learning environment throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Holds an HLTA qualification or substantial HLTA-level experience.
• Experience in UK primary schools.
• Confident delivering pre-planned lessons and managing a classroom independently.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned lessons and provide classroom cover when required.
• Support teaching and learning across the primary age range.
• Lead small group interventions and provide additional support to individual pupils.
• Manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Work closely with teachers and school staff to support pupils' progress.
• Support wraparound care and supervise engaging, age-appropriate activities.

Gold Education Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within a welcoming primary school in Braintree, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and dedicated HLTA who enjoys supporting children's learning, delivering lessons and contributing to the wider school community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing classroom support, covering lessons when required and assisting with the school's wraparound care provision.

Working Hours

• 9:00am-6:00pm, including wraparound care
• 11:00am-6:00pm, including wraparound care

The Role

• Delivering pre-planned lessons and providing classroom cover in the absence of the class teacher.
• Supporting teaching and learning across the primary age range.
• Leading small group interventions and providing additional support to individual pupils.
• Managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive learning environment.
• Working closely with teachers and school staff to support pupils' progress and development.
• Supporting children during the school's after-school wraparound care provision.
• Helping to organise and supervise engaging, age-appropriate activities.
• Ensuring pupils are safe, happy and appropriately supported throughout the school day.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds an HLTA qualification or has substantial experience working at HLTA level.
• Has previous experience working within a UK primary school.
• Is confident delivering pre-planned lessons and managing a classroom independently.
• Has a good understanding of the primary curriculum, including Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Can build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents.
• Is organised, reliable, adaptable and enthusiastic.
• Is happy to support both classroom teaching and wraparound care.
• Has a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
