Vision for Education is recruiting a Teacher of History for a well-established secondary school in Preston, Lancashire. An immediate start is available for a long-term role with no set end date.

The ideal applicant will hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification and have proven history teaching History in a secondary setting, with strong management of classes and safeguarding commitment. There may be occasional KS3 RE lessons, with resources provided.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience teaching History in a secondary school setting.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and/or Key Stage 4.
  • Experience teaching Key Stage 3 RE would be desirable; resources provided.

Responsibilities

  • Teach History to Key Stage 3 and 4 students.
  • Possibly deliver some Key Stage 3 Religious Education with resources provided.
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
  • Deliver engaging and well-structured lessons and manage classes effectively.

Are you a passionate Teacher of History looking for an immediate start in Preston, Lancashire? Vision for Education is working on behalf of a well-established secondary school to recruit an enthusiastic Teacher of History for a temporary, long-term position with no set end date.

This exciting Teacher of History opportunity is based at a well-regarded secondary school in Preston, Lancashire, offering the successful candidate the chance to join a supportive department and make a real impact from day one.

The school's most recent Ofsted inspection took place in January 2025, with inspectors judging the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management as Good.

The successful Teacher of History will be responsible for teaching History, so experience teaching History is essential. There may also be some Key Stage 3 Religious Education lessons to pick up, so experience teaching RE would be desirable, although suitable resources will be provided.

The ideal Teacher of History will have:
