Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking a consultant histopathologist to join a large team of 32 consultants. The post offers flexible working arrangements (job share or part-time) with subspecialty focus and potential perinatal pathology involvement.

The role includes reporting cases, teaching specialty trainees and undergraduates, contributing to service development, and optional private practice or HM Coroners work. GMC registration with licence to practise is essential.

Qualifications

• FRCPath or equivalent required.
• Non-UK applicants must show equivalence to UK CCT.
• Full GMC registration with licence to practise required.
• Experience with audit and clinical governance.

Responsibilities

• Report histopathology cases with workload managed by an exit allocation system.
• Work within two or three subspecialty teams in an oligo-specialist model.
• Provide perinatal and paediatric pathology cover or train in it with partner centres.
• Train specialty trainees (ST1-5) in histopathology.
• Contribute to undergraduate teaching.
• Participate in service development and improvement.
• Undertake optional private practice work.
• Undertake optional work for HM Coroners.
