Job summary

Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is seeking a Consultant in Histopathology to join a team of 32 consultants in a modern laboratory in Norwich. The role covers two to three subspecialties with opportunities in paediatric/perinatal, dermatopathology and GI pathology.

The successful candidate will contribute to diagnostic services, education, research and service development within the NHS, with flexible working arrangements including part-time options.

Qualifications

• Full GMC registration with licence to practise.
• FRCPath or equivalent fellowship.
• Entry on GMC Specialist Register via CCT or CESR or EU rights.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist histopathology diagnostic and reporting services.
• Examine and interpret tissue specimens to support accurate diagnosis and patient treatment.
• Develop expertise in 2–3 subspecialties and contribute to respective teams.
• Collaborate with clinicians, lab staff and multidisciplinary teams.
• Deliver high-quality, timely pathology reports and contribute to governance.
