Job summary

University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust in Coventry is seeking a Specialist Dissector Trainee to join the CWPS dissection team. The post requires HCPC registration and IBMS Diploma of Expert Practice in Dissection; trainees will be paid band 6 until IBMS DEP is achieved, with duties at UHCW and SWFT sites.

The role offers training, protected time and support to gain the IBMS DEP in dissection, with a rotation across 7.5-hour shifts and required immunisation reporting.

Qualifications

• Fellowship of the IBMS or MSc in related field and HCPC registration.
• IBMS DEP in Histological Dissection or current progress toward it.
• Experience in clinical laboratory settings with dissection.
• Evidence of CPD and ability to work across multiple sites.

Responsibilities

• Perform, allocate and supervise dissection tasks ensuring diagnostic service delivery.
• Plan and allocate workloads across UHCW and SWFT sites to meet service needs.
• Record, validate and authorise results; maintain QA records and SOPs.
• Travel between sites to support the dissection service; supervise staff as needed.
