Job summary

Holt Recruitment Ltd is assisting a large plant and tool hire company to recruit a Hire Desk Controller for their Wolverhampton/Birmingham operations. The role offers a salary of £32,000–£36,000 per year and a Monday to Friday daytime rota.

The Hire Desk Controller will handle enquiries, check machine availability, coordinate with engineering and transport teams, and act as a helpful contact at the depot.

Qualifications

• Experience in Plant, Powered access, Tool or Material Handling industries is required.
• Good communication skills and general computer literacy are essential.
• Experience with order taking and stock/availability checks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Answer hire enquiries via telephone, email and online ordering system.
• Check machine availability and keep statuses up to date across systems.
• Coordinate with engineering and transport teams to prepare and deliver machines to sites.
• Provide a helpful and friendly point of contact for depot enquiries.

My client, a large Plant and tool hire company operating Nationwide, are looking for a Hire Desk Controller to join their team.

The role of Hire Controller in brief:

• Taking hire enquiries via telephone, email and our online ordering system.
• Checking availability of machines and ensuring that machine statuses are always up to date on our systems.
• Coordinating with the engineering and transport teams to ensure that the correct machines are ready and delivered to customer sites.
• Communicating effectively with other colleagues, and providing a helpful and friendly point of contact for depot enquiries.

The ideal candidate for Hire Controller :

• Previous experience in a Plant, Powered access, Tool or Material Handling industries.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft packages, and computer skills in general.
• Good communication skills.
