Job summary

TPA Portable Roadways is recruiting a Hire Controller for our Worksop depot. This busy, office-based role involves processing hire requests, coordinating with depots and transport, and ensuring timely, on-spec deliveries to customers.

We’re seeking an organised team player with strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience in sales or customer service. Training will be provided on our products and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in sales or customer service is essential.
• Excellent communication skills, both face to face and on the phone.
• Customer focused approach with a proactive mindset.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Good IT skills and familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Knowledge of the hire industry is beneficial, full training provided.
• Ability to prioritise workload under pressure and work in a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with potential and existing clients, offering services and providing quotations.
• Ensure all administration is up to date and accurate.
• Act as the main point of contact for customers and resolve queries promptly.
• Coordinate hires between Sales, Operations and depots.
• Arrange equipment deliveries and collections with transport teams.
• Monitor equipment availability and schedule to meet demand.
• Maintain hire records including extensions and off-hires.
• Assist with resolving equipment or service issues promptly and professionally.

This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and organised team player to join us as a Hire Controller at our Worksop depot. This is a fast-paced, office-based role where you’ll play a key part in delivering great service to our customers. You’ll be responsible for processing hire requests, coordinating with our depots and transport team, and ensuring equipment is delivered on time and to specification.This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys working with people, and takes pride in getting the details right.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with potential and existing clients, offering services and providing quotations
• Ensure all administration is always up to date
• Act as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring all queries are dealt with in a timely manner
• Operate as a link between the Sales and Operational functions whilst coordinating hires
• Coordinate equipment deliveries and collections with transport and depot teams
• Monitor equipment availability and manage scheduling to meet customer demand
• Update and maintain accurate hire records, including hire extensions and off-hires
• Assist with resolving equipment or service issues promptly and professionally
