Job summary

Vp plc is seeking a Driver's Mate to work with the driver in a two-person team across the UK, delivering, installing and collecting portable roadways. The role offers full training and a clearly defined path to becoming a Class 1 Driver on our advanced vehicles.

Starting salary £31,850 with realistic OTE £38,000. We provide full travel expenses, overnight allowance, generous holidays and a strong focus on development and career progression.

• Must have a full UK driving licence.
• Able to work on the road and outdoors in all weather.
• Physically fit for demanding outdoor work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver, install and collect portable roadways in the UK as part of a two-man team.
• Use the lorry loader crane to install and recover portable roadways.
• Provide customers with familiarisation of equipment.
• Carry out weekly vehicle, trailer and crane cleaning.
• Map read and plan routes with the Driver.
• Complete paperwork accurately.
• Record damaged stock and carry out weekly stock checks.
• Maintain health and safety for all on site.

Job description

As a Driver's Mate for TPA, you will work closely with the driver as part of a two-man team, delivering, installing and collecting portable roadways in a variety of different settings across the UK. As part of the role, we provide full training and a clear pathway to becoming a Class 1 Driver on our state-of-the-art vehicles. • Must enjoy being on the road and working outside in all weathers
• Use the lorry loader crane to install and recover our unique range of temporary roadway products
• Provide our customers with appropriate familiarisation of equipment
• Carry out weekly vehicle, trailer & crane cleaning procedure
• Map read and plan routes in discussion with the Driver
• Ensure that paperwork is accurately completed
• Identify and record all damaged stock correctly with the driver
• Carry out a weekly vehicle stock-check
• Ensure health & safety for you and others in the working area

In addition to the above:

• Must be comfortable spending time away from home, Monday to Friday
• Weekend overtime available
  No experience or qualifications are required other than a full UK Driving Licence, as we provide all necessary training
