Job summary

Vp Rail is seeking a Senior Transport Manager to lead operator licence compliance, fleet performance, and cost control. You will head up drivers and road crews, shaping transport strategy and driving improvements across logistics functions.

The role demands extensive DVSA knowledge, strong leadership and budget management, plus a full UK driving licence. You will collaborate with Operations, Hire Desk, Sales and Project teams to deliver safe, compliant and efficient transport operations.

Qualifications

• International CPC Holder (essential)
• Extensive experience managing HGV and commercial vehicle fleets
• Detailed understanding of DVSA regulations and Operator Licence requirements
• Proven leadership and people management capability
• Strong communication, planning and organisational skills
• Commercial awareness with budget management experience
• Full UK driving licence; HGV entitlement advantageous
• Experience of delivering change and operational improvements

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across logistics and fleet activities.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety and environmental standards.

The successful candidate will provide leadership to drivers and road crews and play a key role in supporting profitable business growth.
