Job summary

Places for People is seeking a Hire Controller to join our team. Based on site five days a week, you will manage the complete hire process, interact with customers, arrange hire and sales of goods and equipment, and handle paperwork and invoicing queries.

You will coordinate supplier orders, plan driver routes, build relationships, and use MS Office tools to support daily operations, with experience in the hire industry being advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Experience with managing on/off hires or similar lifecycle tasks is preferred.
  • Ability to provide quotations and handle supplier procurement related to hire.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and customer focus.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Good numerical ability for invoicing and basic calculations.

Responsibilities

  • Deal with customers, arrange hire and sales of goods and equipment.
  • Complete paperwork, plan driver routes, and handle invoice queries.
  • Place orders with suppliers and perform related tasks as required.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customers and suppliers.

Job description

We are The Hire Place UK, part of the Places for People Group; we are looking for a Hire Controller to join our team.

This role is a varied and interesting role which requires involvement in the complete hire process and is an opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of the functions within the hire business.

The primary function of this role will be dealing with customers, and arranging hire and sales of goods and equipment, completing the appropriate paperwork, planning driver routes, dealing with invoice queries, placing orders with suppliers and related tasks, along with many other duties that may be required from time to time.

This role is based on site 5 days a week (Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm).

  • MS Office including Outlook/Word/Excel, as well as basic mathematical ability.

Experience in the hire industry is an advantage but not essential.
