Job summary

Amey in Staffordshire is seeking a permanent Highways Team Leader to manage Winter and Cyclical activities across our designated sections. This on-site role at Gailey depot (ST19 5PR) and across Staffordshire offers a mix of maintenance responsibilities while ensuring safety, quality and efficient resource use.

You will coordinate day-to-day operations, monitor resources, liaise with stakeholders, provide night-shift Winter supervision (Oct–April) and support out-of-hours service.

Qualifications

• Experience of working on a Highways Maintenance Contract.
• Full UK Driver’s License.
• People management experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Relevant certifications: Banksman Slinger; CAT Scanner (Highways); Emergency First Aid at Work (HSE); Environmental Awareness; Personal Highways Safety; Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high technical standards and oversee various work activities.
• Ensure team and public safety in compliance with health and safety legislation.
• Monitor resource utilisation.
• Liaise with various stakeholders, manage records, and complete necessary paperwork.
• Coordinate day-to-day maintenance operations and manage resources efficiently.
• Carry out Winter supervision on our designated nightshift (Oct-April)
• Support Out of hours service.
