Job summary

Marlborough Highways Ltd is seeking an experienced Reactive Supervisor to support the Camden contract, located at Garman Road, Tottenham. You will supervise direct and Sub-Contract labour, ensure safety, and drive efficient delivery of services in line with contract requirements.

You will coordinate resources, monitor site safety, prepare risk assessments, and liaise with clients to keep operations commercially viable and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising highways operations.
• Understanding of highways term maintenance contracts.
• Ability to produce monthly MI reports.
• Full driving licence.
• Commitment to health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the safe running of allocated sites and monitor safe procedures.
• Prepare and implement risk assessments and method statements.
• Manage/liaise with Sub-Contractors as appropriate.
• Liaise with Client, at the depot or on site.
• Conduct depot and site inductions.
• Weekly Health & Safety & Environmental Inspections.
• Issue Works Orders and Permits.
• Organise and resource staff, plant and materials for progress.
• Minimise costs via effective programming and use of resources.
• Ensure work follows contract plans and procedures.
• Check drawings and site instructions and report anomalies.
• Monitor quality of work by employees and contractors.
• Ensure operations are commercially viable with management.

Description

Here at Marlborough Highways we have an opportunity for an experienced Reactive Supervisor to join our teams supporting the successful delivery of our contract in Camden.

As a Supervisor within the Highways division you will be responsible for supervising and co-ordinating teams of both directly employed and Sub-Contract labour. You will ensure that operational and financial targets and deadlines are met and that the works and services are implemented in accordance with the contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe running of (allocated) sites and monitor the implementation and control of safe working procedures.
• Prepare and implement risk assessments and method statements.
• Manage/liaise with Sub-Contractors as appropriate.
• Liaise with Client, at the depot or on site.
• Conduct depot and site Inductions.
• Weekly Health & Safety & Environmental Inspections.
• Issue Works Order and Permits.
• Organising and resourcing staff labour, plant and materials, so that the works progress effectively and economically.
• Minimising cost of works through correct programming and utilisation of labour, plant, materials and Sub-Contractors.
• Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the contract plan and procedures, with risk assessments and method statements.
• Checking drawings, site instructions, work orders and contract documents and reporting any anomalies or lack of information.
• Monitor the standard of work of all employees and contractors.
• In conjunction with the Contract Manager or Operations Manager, ensure that the operations are commercially viable.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Prior supervisory experience ideally within a Highways setting
• Understanding of Highways term maintenance contracts
• Confident generating and delivery a variety of MI on a monthly basis
• Driving Licence
• Strong background in working in accordance with Health and safety policies and procedures
• Experience with Confirm and Street Manager systems desirable
• Traffic Management Knowledge, LANTRA Accreditation desirable
