Job summary

Marlborough Highways Ltd is seeking a Highways Supervisor for our Camden contract, based at Garman Road - Tottenham. You will supervise teams, coordinate activities and ensure works align with contract requirements.

You will drive safe operating practices, manage sub-contractors, and liaise with clients to deliver on time and within budget. A strong safety mindset and relevant highways experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience in highways environments.
• Knowledge of highway term maintenance contracts.
• Ability to generate and deliver MI on a monthly basis.
• Full and clean driving licence.
• Strong health and safety background and policies.
• Experience with Confirm and Street Manager is desirable.
• Traffic management knowledge with LANTRA accreditation desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate teams on allocated sites to meet targets.
• Ensure safe working practices and compliant methods.
• Liaise with client and sub-contractors; issue works orders.
• Organise staff, plant and materials to progress works economically.
• Monitor quality and commercial viability with the Contracts/Operations Manager.
• Conduct site inductions and regular safety/environment inspections.
• Review drawings and contract documents for accuracy.

Description

Here at Marlborough Highways we have an opportunity for an experienced Reactive Supervisor to join our teams supporting the successful delivery of our contract in Camden.

As a Supervisor within the Highways division you will be responsible for supervising and co-ordinating teams of both directly employed and Sub-Contract labour. You will ensure that operational and financial targets and deadlines are met and that the works and services are implemented in accordance with the contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for the safe running of (allocated) sites and monitor the implementation and control of safe working procedures.
• Prepare and implement risk assessments and method statements.
• Manage/liaise with Sub-Contractors as appropriate.
• Liaise with Client, at the depot or on site.
• Conduct depot and site Inductions.
• Weekly Health & Safety & Environmental Inspections.
• Issue Works Order and Permits.
• Organising and resourcing staff labour, plant and materials, so that the works progress effectively and economically.
• Minimising cost of works through correct programming and utilisation of labour, plant, materials and Sub-Contractors.
• Ensuring that all work is carried out in accordance with the contract plan and procedures, with risk assessments and method statements.
• Checking drawings, site instructions, work orders and contract documents and reporting any anomalies or lack of information.
• Monitor the standard of work of all employees and contractors.
• In conjunction with the Contract Manager or Operations Manager, ensure that the operations are commercially viable.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Prior supervisory experience ideally within a Highways setting
• Understanding of Highways term maintenance contracts
• Confident generating and delivery a variety of MI on a monthly basis
• Driving Licence
• Strong background in working in accordance with Health and safety policies and procedures
• Experience with Confirm and Street Manager systems desirable
• Traffic Management Knowledge , LANTRA Accreditation desirable
