Marlborough Highways is seeking a Street Lighting Supervisor to lead the Highway Electrical division on our long-term maintenance contract with the London Borough of Havering. You will oversee teams, subcontractors and delivery of both maintenance and capital works to the highest safety and quality standards.

Based in London, the role requires strong leadership, engineering knowledge of street lighting and a proven track record in supervising highway operations.

Qualifications

• Must possess valid G39 certification, SMSTS, and a current ECS card.
• Experience supervising highways electrical or street lighting for a principal Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
• Knowledge of Chapter 8 traffic management regulations for urban street works.
• Full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and ability to log and close jobs using Confirm and Exedra.

Responsabilités

• Oversee day-to-day maintenance and installation of street lighting equipment.
• Enforce health, safety, and environmental standards on live sites.
• Monitor KPIs to meet Haringey council contract requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, quality audits and risk assessments.
• Coordinate resources including plant, materials and labour.
• Liaise with project managers and council engineers on progress.

Description

Here at Marlborough Highways we are looking for an experienced Street Lighting Supervisor to lead our highways electrical division on our long-term term maintenance contract with the London Borough of Havering. You will lead operational teams and subcontractors, ensuring street lighting maintenance and capital works are delivered safely, on time, and to high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational oversight: Supervise day-to-day maintenance, structural & electrical testing and installation of street lighting columns, lanterns, and illuminated signs.
• Safety management: Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all live operational sites.
• Contract delivery: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure work meets the requirements of the Haringey council contract.
• Site inspections: Conduct regular site checks, quality audits, and risk assessments to guarantee work complies with specifications.
• Resource coordination: Allocate plant, materials, and labour efficiently to maximize daily productivity.
• Client relations: Work closely with Marlborough project managers and Haringey council engineers to update them on job progress.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Qualifications: Must possess valid G39 certification, SMSTS, and a current ECS card.
• Experience: Strong supervisory background in highways electrical or street lighting sectors, preferably working for a principal tier 1 or tier 2 contractor.
• Traffic management: Good working knowledge of Chapter 8 traffic management regulations for urban street works.
• Driving licence: Full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, problem-solving skills, and comfort using digital handheld devices to log and close jobs using Confirm and Exedra.
