Marlborough Highways Group is seeking an experienced Street Lighting Supervisor to lead the London borough of Havering contract. You will manage operational teams and subcontractors, ensuring maintenance and capital works are delivered safely, on time and to high quality standards.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, enforcing safety standards, and coordinating resources while maintaining strong client relations with Havering council engineers and Marlborough project managers.

Formación

• Must have G39 certification, SMSTS and ECS card.
• Strong supervisory background in highways electrical or street lighting.
• Good knowledge of Chapter 8 traffic management regulations and a full UK driving licence.

• Enforce health, safety and environmental standards across all sites.
• Monitor KPIs to ensure contract requirements are met for Havering council project.
• Conduct site inspections, quality audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with specs.
• Coordinate allocation of plant, materials and labour to maximise productivity.
• Liaise with Marlborough project managers and council engineers to report progress.

Here at Marlborough Highways we are looking for an experienced Street Lighting Supervisor to lead our highways electrical division on our long-term term maintenance contract with the London Borough of Havering. You will lead operational teams and subcontractors, ensuring street lighting maintenance and capital works are delivered safely, on time, and to high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational oversight: Supervise day-to-day maintenance, structural & electrical testing and installation of street lighting columns, lanterns, and illuminated signs.
• Safety management: Enforce strict compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards across all live operational sites.
• Contract delivery: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure work meets the requirements of the Haringey council contract.
• Site inspections: Conduct regular site checks, quality audits, and risk assessments to guarantee work complies with specifications.
• Resource coordination: Allocate plant, materials, and labour efficiently to maximize daily productivity.
• Client relations: Work closely with Marlborough project managers and Haringey council engineers to update them on job progress.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Qualifications: Must possess valid G39 certification, SMSTS, and a current ECS card.
• Experience: Strong supervisory background in highways electrical or street lighting sectors, preferably working for a principal tier 1 or tier 2 contractor.
• Traffic management: Good working knowledge of Chapter 8 traffic management regulations for urban street works.
• Driving licence: Full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Skills: Strong leadership capabilities, problem-solving skills, and comfort using digital handheld devices to log and close jobs using Confirm and Exedra.
