Job summary

Hampshire County Council is seeking a Streetworks Inspector to join Hampshire Highways. Based at the Totton depot, the role involves coordinating highway works, performing inspections and analyzing data to ensure statutory obligations are met.

37 hours per week, permanent contract, salary £28,697–£31,573 per annum. You’ll work with contractors and council teams, respond to public inquiries, and support performance management within the Streetworks team.

Qualifications

• Flexible, organised and able to manage workload with minimal supervision.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to travel for role and respond to enquiries from the public and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Inspect utility, third-party and County Council works on the highway.
• Identify and help resolve defects and ensure compliance and high standards of workmanship.
• Communicate with customers and stakeholders to meet statutory obligations and expectations.
• Support local Streetworks coordination and performance management to ensure highway activities are well managed.
