Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a consultant with experience in safety risk management and operations planning to support project delivery of highway safety initiatives. The role involves contributing to hazard identification, risk analysis, and safety documentation from early scoping through to scheme delivery.

You will engage with clients and project teams on safety matters, applying standards like DMRB GG104 and related client requirements, while developing reports and supporting senior stakeholders

Qualifications

• Clear written reports to support safety proposals.
• Present findings to senior stakeholders.
• Understanding operational safety for road users and workers.
• Knowledge of highway operation and maintenance.
• Familiar with iRAP, COBALT, RRRAP and BCR methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of safety-focused projects for highway operation from early stage to scheme delivery.
• Contribute to safety risk assessment development and workshops.
• Assist in safety reviews and analysing safety data for hazards and mitigations.
• Help develop safety documentation, reports and reasoned arguments.
• Apply standards such as DMRB GG104 and client requirements.
• Engage with clients and project teams on safety matters.
