Job summary

The Oyster Partnership is seeking an experienced Highways Inspector for a Local Authority in the South East of England. You will carry out planned and reactive highway safety inspections across carriageways and footways, identifying defects and risk assessing them.

You will raise works orders, monitor repairs and maintain records to support defence claims, while updating asset systems such as Symology or Insight.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways inspection for a local authority is preferred.
• Ability to carry out risk assessment of highway defects.
• Experience updating asset management systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out highway safety inspections across carriageways and footways.
• Identify, assess and categorise highway defects.
• Raise and monitor repair works to address defects.
• Maintain inspection records to support claims and defence.
• Inspect completed highway works to verify standards.
• Respond to public and councillor highway enquiries.
• Update asset/inspection systems such as Symology or Insight.
