Job summary

Essex Highways is responsible for maintaining a vast highway network and requires a Highways Inspector to perform routine Monthly, Quarterly and Annual inspections. You will record conditions, raise defects, and help plan work with delivery teams while engaging with stakeholders to resolve inquiries.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Highway Authority and Local Government policies and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to work to defined timescales and targets.

Responsibilities

• Carry out inspections and record the condition of the public highway to maintain standards.
• Raise defects using data capture devices to inform delivery teams.
• Provide advice and information to stakeholders, respond to complaints as needed.
• Identify sites of accident claims and prepare documentation for safety compliance.
