Job summary

Carrington West is seeking an experienced Highways Quantity Surveyor for a hybrid role based in Penrith. You will oversee commercial delivery on major highways schemes, managing NEC contracts and interfacing with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure timely, profitable project outcomes.

The role combines on-site presence (3 days) with 2 days from home, and includes lodging support for travel to sites. A strong background in NEC contracts and highways is essential for success.

Qualifications

• NEC contracts knowledge is essential.
• Extensive highways project experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial aspects of highways projects from inception to final account.
• Prepare, review and negotiate subcontractor packages.
• Produce valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Identify, price and manage compensation events and variations.
• Monitor project performance and report on commercial progress.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers and clients to deliver projects.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal teams.
