Job summary

Kier Group in Shrewsbury is seeking a Permit Coordinator to join the Shropshire Contract team. You will work with the Programme Manager and operations to program and permit highway works, ensuring timely approvals and accurate records.

You will liaise with planning, Shropshire Council and neighbouring authorities, manage permit submissions, and help schedule resurfacing, bridges, street lighting and emergency works. A background in highways and NRSWA qualifications is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways with knowledge of the highway network and works.
• NRSWA qualifications and IT skills including Excel and Word.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and permit highway works for the Shropshire Contract team.
• Liaise with Planning and Operational teams to coordinate and permit various work types.
• Consult with Shropshire Council and neighbouring authorities to ensure works are scheduled.
• Obtain permissions from national highways and heritage organisations.
• Maintain accurate records and provide data for reporting to the Senior Management Team.
