Job summary

Kier Group in Shrewsbury is seeking a Supervisor to lead highways maintenance within the Shropshire Region. You will supervise, plan and oversee site teams, ensuring safety, on-time delivery and budget adherence on a range of works from reactive maintenance to major schemes.

With a full driving licence and a valid NRSWA Supervisor card, you will drive site safety, coordinate with supply partners and uphold CDM and environmental standards across contracts.

Qualifications

• Proven supervisory experience within construction and highways.
• Site Safety Management qualification such as SMSTS or SSSTS.
• Full driving licence and valid NRSWA Supervisor card.
• Good working knowledge of Temporary Works requirements and fleet management.

Responsibilities

• Plan, programme and deliver works to meet targets.
• Undertake safety site inspections and ensure health and safety standards are met.
• Develop and lead site teams to support career progression and competency.
• Collaborate with supply-chain partners to improve health and safety standards.

Job description

We're looking for a Supervisor to join our Shropshire Region team based in Shrewsbury. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team where you'll be responsible for the supervision, planning, and health and safety of site teams. You'll oversee reactive, routine, minor works, schemes, bridges and structures, ensuring works are delivered safely, on budget, and to target dates.

Location: Shrewsbury – site based 5 days per week
Hours: Permanent Fulltime 40 per week
Salary: £38,930 per year + £5,000 annual car allowance + benefits

What will you be responsible for?

As a Supervisor, you'll be working within the Shropshire Region team, supporting them in delivering highways maintenance projects safely and efficiently. Your day to day will include:

• Planning, programming and delivering works to meet company and contractual targets
• Undertaking safety site inspections and ensuring all health and safety standards are maintained across the contract
• Managing and developing site teams to ensure career progression and competency is achieved
• Collaborating with supply-chain partners to improve health and safety standards and best practice
• Ensuring compliance with CDM regulations, traffic management and environmental processes

What are we looking for?

This role of Supervisor is ideal for someone with:

• Proven supervisory experience within construction and highways, with a good understanding of highways works and site operations
• A recognised Site Safety Management qualification, such as SMSTS or SSSTS
• A full driving licence and valid NRSWA Supervisor card
• Good working knowledge of Temporary Works requirements and fleet management
• A collaborative and dependable approach, with the ability to work effectively with site teams, contractors and wider project stakeholders
