Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a Highways Performance Officer to drive performance management across highways maintenance, network and asset management. You will lead on the quality aspects of the performance framework and work with internal teams, contractors and partners to ensure data is robust, meaningful and reported on time.

You will analyse data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement, and contribute to monthly governance reporting and service planning to deliver

Qualifications

• Experience in a performance-focused environment, ideally within highways or a related service area.
• Strong knowledge of performance frameworks, systems, policies and relevant legislation.
• Experience of working with contractors and managing performance against contractual requirements.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make evidence-based recommendations.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to different audiences.

Responsibilities

• Acting as the highways team’s expert on performance management, particularly in relation to quality and service delivery.
• Maintaining and developing the performance management framework, including alliance indicators.
• Ensuring performance data is accurately captured, reported and used as a true indicator of service performance.
• Analysing performance data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Monitoring contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and agreed outcomes.
• Contributing to monthly and governance reporting, including performance dashboards and board reports.
• Supporting service planning, improvement activities and wider performance initiatives.
