Job summary

Ringway is recruiting for a general maintenance operative in Bracknell. You will work on highways maintenance projects, supported by a Chargehand, carrying out a wide range of routine and cyclical tasks. The role includes responding to emergencies and callouts, and assisting with winter maintenance activities as needed.

We value teamwork, flexibility and commitment to safety, with opportunities for training and progression. A full-time, 40-hour week is typical, with some out-of-hours work.

Qualifications

• Must have current health & safety awareness
• CSCS card if client requirement
• 12 months+ experience preferred
• Potential to obtain LGV licence
• Willingness to undertake relevant training and qualifications
• Ability to operate small plant and equipment
• Be able to complete record sheets (paper or electronic)
• Be available for emergency and winter call outs

Job description

To carry out general maintenance works and operations, working with a Chargehand, undertaking a wide range of routine and cyclical works. To respond to emergencies and call outs during or out of hours on rotas as required and assist with winter maintenance activities as a second man or driver’s mate. Includes apprentices who have fully completed training

• Banksman
• Manual Handling

• Minimum level of every day behaviour as set out in the company behaviours matrix

Specialist Skills

• To have and be able to apply a wide range of generalist skills
• To understand risk assessments and to assess according to safe systems of work
• To be able to understand and carry out work as set out in a specification
• Generally hold 12 months+ experience
• Potential & interest in obtaining LGV licence
• Undertaken training on: General health & safety awareness / Risk assessment awareness / Traffic Management / Use of PDA as required
• Ability to use small plant and equipment
• Ability to operate mini excavator
