Job summary

Ringway London in Guildford is seeking a hands-on Highways Operative to carry out general maintenance and routine works under the supervision of a Chargehand. The role includes responding to emergencies, call-outs, and winter maintenance as needed, with a focus on safety and on-site teamwork.

You will hold a current driving license, CSCS where required, and demonstrate the ability to work in varying hours and adapt to changing site conditions.

Essential Requirements

• Current Driving License
• CSCS card if client requirement
• Minimum level of every day behaviour as set out in the company behaviours matrix

Specialist Skills

• To have and be able to apply a wide range of generalist skills
• To understand risk assessments and to assess according to safe systems of work
• To be able to understand and carry out work as set out in a specification
• Generally hold 12 months+ experience
• Potential & interest in obtaining LGV licence
• Undertaken training on: General health & safety awareness / Risk assessment awareness / Traffic Management / Use of PDA as required
• Ability to use small plant and equipment
• Ability to operate mini excavator
