Job summary

Ringway in Guildford is seeking a Highways Operative to carry out general maintenance and operations under a Chargehand. You’ll respond to emergencies, participate in call-outs, and assist with winter maintenance as needed.

The role includes opportunities to supervise other operatives and provide on-site training, with full-time hours Monday to Friday. Applicants should hold Lantra qualifications, a current driving licence, and be prepared to work varying hours across site teams, developing

Qualifications

• Lantra qualifications as listed above and CSCS where required.
• Current driving licence and willingness to drive a variety of vehicles.
• Ability to supervise operatives and provide on-site training.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance works and operations under supervision.

• CSCS card if client requirement
• Minimum level of every day behaviour as set out in the company behaviours matrix
  
  

Specialist Skills

• To have and be able to apply a wide range of generalist skills
• To understand risk assessments and to assess according to safe systems of work
• To be able to understand and carry out work as set out in a specification
• Generally hold 12 months+ experience
• Potential & interest in obtaining LGV licence
• Undertaken training on: General health & safety awareness / Risk assessment awareness / Traffic Management / Use of PDA as required
• Ability to use small plant and equipment
• Ability to operate mini excavator
