Job summary

Cumberland Council’s Highways Service is seeking a Highways Network Officer to design, deliver and maintain highway projects across the county. Duties include surveys, specifications and supervising works on roads, footways and cycleways, plus winter maintenance and asset management.

Required qualifications include a degree or NVQ Level 5 or equivalent experience, with experience in managing projects with customers, contractors and elected members.

Responsibilities

• Carry out surveys and prepare specifications for highway works.

• Provide technical advice to colleagues, contractors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to project planning and asset management.
• Ensure works are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
