Job summary

Ringway is seeking a dedicated Highways Operative in Cambridge to carry out general maintenance works, traffic management and cyclic highway operations. You will work as part of a team to deliver high standards of safety and quality on our road network.

Responsibilities include completing checks of plant, equipment and vehicles, keeping daily records, and responding to on-call emergencies when rostered. The role is permanent with full-time hours and a variable shift pattern.

Qualifications

• HGV 2 qualification preferred.
• Experience working on highways or civil engineering projects.
• Ability to operate and maintain highway-related equipment.

Responsibilities

• Work safely and ensure personal and team safety on site.
• Carry out checks of plant, equipment and vehicles and complete reports.
• Undertake works as instructed without direct supervision and meet specification and programme.
• Accurately complete daily record sheets and submit them daily.
• Respond to out-of-hours emergencies as rostered and within required timescales.
• Participate in Winter Maintenance standby as required.
• Attend training to remain competent for assigned tasks.
• Follow company procedures at all times.
• Foster positive employee morale and teamwork.
• Willingly carry out any reasonable task requested by management.
