Job summary

Amey Ltd is seeking a Highway Supervisor to lead frontline maintenance teams on the National Highways Account, based at Bramham Maintenance Compound, Leeds. The role oversees safe, compliant delivery of highway works and requires active coordination of resources in a fast-paced environment.

The position offers 45 hours per week with standby and emergency response duties, and opportunities for career development within Amey's infrastructure portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways maintenance or similar operational environment.
• Supervisory or frontline management experience.
• Good understanding of HSE requirements.
• Experience coordinating activities, resources and programmes.
• Strong planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Valid UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Supervise operational teams delivering highway maintenance activities.
• Ensure works are safe and compliant with procedures, legislation and contracts.
• Monitor quality, productivity and performance across activities.
• Conduct site inspections, safety observations and audits.
• Coordinate resources, plant, materials and labour for efficient service delivery.
• Support winter maintenance and emergency response operations.
• Complete records and reports accurately within timescales.
• Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, stakeholders and customers.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and promote safety standards.
