Job summary

Kier Group is recruiting a Highways Maintenance Operative (Stump Grinder) for our Birmingham arboriculture team based at Thimble Mill Lane. You will work on safe highways and greenspaces, performing stump grinding, root pruning, and related duties on a 40-hour week.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds NPTC/Lantra chainsaw and stump grinding qualifications.
• NRSWA or equivalent operative qualification.
• CAT & Genny qualification with practical experience.
• NPORS (or equivalent) lorry loader with clamshell and timber grab attachments.
• Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Stump grinding, root pruning, tree pit creation, and re-staking.
• Setting up safe working sites on the highway and liaising with members of the public.
• Following safe systems of work, risk assessments, and safety procedures at all times.
• Completing safety-critical emergency works when required.
• Maintaining accurate paperwork including LOLER check sheets and HAVS forms.

Stump grinding qualifications

NRSWA or equivalent operative qualification

CAT & Genny qualification
