Job summary

Balfour Beatty Living Places is recruiting a Highways Maintenance Operative to support delivery of highways maintenance across Lincolnshire, including reactive, routine and winter works. The role covers depots at Sturton, Horncastle, Sleaford or Pode Hole and requires safety-first practice and strong teamwork to maintain roads and public spaces.

You will follow site procedures, communicate clearly with colleagues and contribute to a customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• Experience in highways maintenance and civil works is desirable.
• Strong focus on safety and quality workmanship.
• Customer-facing role with good communication skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to site procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out highways maintenance tasks safely and efficiently to a high standard.
• Support reactive, routine, cyclical and emergency works across the contract.
• Complete work instructions via handheld devices.
• Undertake minor civils works and site safety activities.
• Support out-of-hours emergency response when required.
• Assist with winter service delivery and gritting operations.
• Use plant, equipment, machinery and materials effectively.
• Ensure work is completed right first time and in line with programme.
