Job summary

Ringway Jacobs, a leading highways service provider, is seeking a Maintenance Operative to assist in delivering high standards of highway maintenance across the county. You will contribute to pothole repairs, patching, drainage works and traffic management, working with colleagues to maintain safe and reliable networks.

The role requires a valid driving licence, good communication with customers, and a commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• Current, valid driving licence is essential.
• Knowledge of highways maintenance preferred.
• NHSS 12 or New Roads/Streetworks training beneficial.
• Experience with handheld technology (PDAs/Smartphones) advantageous.
• Strong customer-facing skills and ability to work with the public.

Responsibilities

• Pothole repair and carriageway defect reinstatements.
• Carriageway and footway patching and construction.
• Drainage works, including laying pipes and gully construction.
• Kerbing works and installation of road signs.
• Soft estate maintenance such as grass cutting and strimming.
• Traffic Management operations and safety compliance.
