Job summary

Ringway Jacobs is seeking a highway maintenance team lead to work within the UK with responsibility for directing a small team and delivering diverse maintenance tasks across carriageways, footways, drainage and minor civils. Emphasis on safety, quality and timely delivery.

The role requires a valid driving licence, with LGV class 2 desirable, and the ability to conduct safety and environmental audits, risk assessments, and traffic management.

Qualifications

• Highway maintenance experience.
• Current, valid driving licence is essential, with LGV class 2 as desirable.
• Able to carry out safety, quality and environmental audits and risk assessments.
• Able to take responsibility for traffic management, 12 A/B Traffic Management.
• A good understanding of health and safety and its impact on the workplace.
• Environmental awareness and waste management; NHSS 12 training/qualifications desirable.
• Experience with handheld devices (Tablets/PDAs/Smartphones) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of the highway maintenance operational team.
• Manage and direct a small highway maintenance team.
• Carry out and take responsibility for skilled tasks across carriageway, footway, drainage and minor civils works.
• Ensure that all works are completed safely and to required standards/timescales.
• Receive daily briefings; communicate risks and control measures to team.
• Complete daily records and site risk assessments; ensure safe systems of work.
