Job summary

Oldham Council’s Highways team is hiring an Assistant Roadworker in Oldham. The role supports highway construction and maintenance tasks, driving highways vehicles, operating plant, and carrying out groundworks to precise lines and levels at Moorhey Street depot.

The ideal candidate holds highway construction experience, a valid driving licence, and a Street Works accreditation, with training in small plant use and safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Relevant highway maintenance/construction experience to high standard.
• Valid driving licence.
• New Roads & Street Works Accredited Operative.
• Training in use of small plant (abrasive wheel and light plant).

Responsibilities

• Construction and maintenance of roads and sewers.
• Winter Maintenance duties.
• Driving specialist Plant.
• Various groundworks.
