Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a qualified highway schemes professional to oversee cost-effective delivery of sustainable transport projects in Suffolk. You will manage major and minor works, deliver Active Travel schemes, and ensure comprehensive integration from design through construction.

The role requires robust stakeholder engagement and a focus on safety and standards. The candidate will lead investigations, contribute to feasibility work, and support community engagement, with potential DBS checks

Qualifications

• Level 5 Civil Engineering qualification or significant experience in highway design.
• CSCS card is required.
• Knowledge of highways design and maintenance techniques.
• Experience managing complex highway projects.
• Able to deliver a 15-minute interview presentation.
• DBS checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Support cost-effective delivery of sustainable transport schemes across Suffolk.
• Manage a portfolio of major and minor highway works.
• Deliver Active Travel schemes and Section 106-funded schemes.
• Ensure integrated scheme delivery from design to construction.
• Maintain independent supervision on behalf of Suffolk County Council.
• Ensure highway works comply with designs and standards.
• Engage with stakeholders throughout investigation, design and implementation.
• Carry out investigations and design for highway improvements and maintenance.
