Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking a Capital Schemes Project Manager to lead multi-faceted highway and transport schemes. You will work with senior stakeholders, draft designs to UK standards, and manage contracts and consultants to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in project management within highways/transport, with strong knowledge of DMRB and related standards. Excellent team collaboration and proactive delivery are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in a relevant engineering subject.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role delivering projects from concept through to construction.
• Proficient in AutoCAD Civils 2D; 3D is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Complete technical designs to UK standards and produce professional reports.
• Project manage schemes to meet strategic priorities, budgets, and timescales.
• Liaise with internal/external clients and oversee contractors to ensure quality and compliance.
