Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is hiring a GIS Analyst to support the A66 NTP scheme in Penrith, Cumbria. The role focuses on creating, maintaining and validating geospatial data, maps and dashboards for project teams and clients.

You will work with BIM/CDE environments, ACC, CAD data, and ensure coordinate systems are accurate, while aligning outputs with ISO 19650 standards. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online proficiency required.
• Coordinate systems must be consistent and accurate.
• Experience in data quality, data assurance, data management.
• Experience creating GIS data, maps, dashboards and geospatial deliverables.
• Advanced Excel data management and checking.
• Familiarity with geodatabases, coordinate systems and data standards.
• Experience with BIM, ACC and CDE environments.
• GIS user administration and access control experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide GIS support to the A66 project, including GIS data creation, maintenance, management and assurance.
• Create, manage and publish GIS data, maps, dashboards and spatial outputs for internal teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Deliver GIS datasets and geospatial information to project teams and external clients as required.
• Support population, distribution, upkeep and QA of GIS datasets to project standards.
• Coordinate data between formats and systems with design, CAD, BIM and project teams.
• Align GIS outputs with BB GIS standards and best practices across the business.
• Develop GIS-based tools and workflows to improve efficiency and value.
• Engage with GIS users and stakeholders to improve adoption and resolve data issues.
• Support asset information and location-based reporting requirements.
• Maintain GIS outputs in line with information management processes and ISO 19650 where relevant.
• Develop ideas to improve GIS processes and data quality across the project.
• Keep up with emerging geospatial technologies for infrastructure delivery.
