Job summary

North Somerset Environment Company Ltd. is seeking an experienced Highway/Construction operative to join the Sandford team.

You will work in a small crew on kerbing, patching, fencing and signage, with on-call winter maintenance duties and potential to progress through our Driver Training Academy. The role requires a CSCS card, a UK driving licence with minimal penalty points, and prior highways/construction experience.

Qualifications

Hold a CSCS card.
UK driving licence with <=6 penalty points.
Experience in highways/construction industry.
Willing to take on additional training.
Flexible working approach and IT literate (tablet).

Responsibilities

Carry out assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
Available for emergency and winter standby as required.
Travel to various locations across the county for tarmac work and gully repairs.
Operate a range of plant and equipment.
Conduct daily risk assessments, pre-site inspections and vehicle checks.
Install and maintain signage, lighting and safety barriers.
Maintain quality upkeep of vehicles, plant and equipment.
Work flexible day and night shifts.
Upskill to become a professional driver through our Driver Training Academy.
