Your new role

The Highways Maintenance Supervisor will play a critical role in managing and overseeing highway maintenance operations within the field of highway engineering. This role will ensure the safe, efficient, and effective maintenance of highways, roads, and related infrastructure.

Your role will involve but won’t be limited to

  • Heavily involved in all aspects of Planned Maintenance, from condition surveys and programme development through to site supervision of major resurfacing or repaving projects.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members by offering ongoing support.
  • Carry out consultations, liaise with external and internal stakeholders, work as part of a team, and assist the Service Manager in developing Maintenance policies.
  • Responsible for overall Planned Maintenance budget management and reporting on this monthly to the Service Manager.

About you

  • Qualification in Civil Engineering and/or several years’ experience in the Highways industry.
  • UK driver’s license.
  • SMSTS card.
  • Strong understanding of NRSWA and certification.
  • Excellent written and communication skills, along with good time and budget management skills.
  • Keen problem solver with the ability to work within complex systems and find simple solutions that deliver real change.
