Join to apply for the Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist Echocardiography role at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.

Here at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, we have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Clinical Physiologist in Echocardiography to join our team. You will deliver Cardiac and Respiratory diagnostics across Calderdale Royal Hospital, Huddersfield Royal Infirmary, and the new Community Diagnostic Spoke and Hub in Halifax and Huddersfield communities.

Calderdale & Huddersfield is a large District General Hospital with a growing Cardio-Respiratory diagnostic department invested in developing the future workforce for Cardiac Physiologists/Healthcare Scientists.

The post holder will work as a key member of the Cardio-Respiratory Service, performing work within the Echocardiogram Service. Applicants are required to have an undergraduate honours degree in Cardiac Physiology (PTP) or equivalent, hold BSE accreditation or have undertaken the exam and logbook (awaiting result), and be registered with the AHCS.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Performing and reporting adult transthoracic echocardiograms independently on inpatients and outpatients.
  2. Providing training and support to clinical physiologists and Specialty Doctors.
  3. Offering clinical support and reporting supervision, including feedback to trainees and unaccredited physiologists and doctors.
  4. Collaborating with Cardiology Consultants and Registrars on Stress Echocardiography, Transoesophageal Echocardiography, and Contrast Studies.
  5. Maximizing clinic capacity through monitoring and auditing IP/OP requirements in partnership with the Service Lead.
  6. Supporting Oncology Trial teams with clinical and technical cardiac monitoring for trial participants, in partnership with Oncology Research leads.
  7. Participating in departmental audits as required.
