Job summary

Academics is recruiting a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a welcoming primary school in North Leeds. This is a long-term cover starting in September and running through the term, with strong potential to extend into 2027.

You will support teaching and learning across the school, deliver planned lessons across EYFS to KS2, and work closely with teachers and SLT to maintain high standards in the absence of teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Holds HLTA status or significant experience in a similar role.
• Confident across all primary key stages (EYFS, KS1, KS2).
• Committed, adaptable and passionate about children's learning.
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
• Must have a DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
• Support learning outcomes by working with small groups and individual pupils.
• Provide targeted intervention sessions where necessary.
• liaise with teachers to ensure effective delivery of the curriculum.
• Uphold school policies and contribute to the wider school ethos.

Are you a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a new opportunity?

We are currently recruiting for a long-term Higher Level Teaching Assistant for one of our welcoming and inclusive primary schools in North Leeds. This is a long term role starting in September and will run for the full term, with a strong possibility of it extending into 2027.

About the Role

As a Higher level Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the whole school. This is a cover-based role, so flexibility and confidence in delivering planned lessons across different year groups is essential.
