Job summary

Academics in North Leeds is assisting a welcoming primary school with a long-term Higher Level Teaching Assistant role starting in September. The post is cover-based across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, with planned lessons delivered by you and strong collaboration with class teachers.

You will support learning through small group and individual interventions, liaise with staff to maintain high standards and uphold school policies.

Are you a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) looking for a new opportunity?

We are currently recruiting for a long-term Higher Level Teaching Assistant for one of our welcoming and inclusive primary schools in North Leeds. This is a long term role starting in September and will run for the full term, with a strong possibility of it extending into 2027.

About the Role

As a Higher level Teaching Assistant you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the whole school. This is a cover-based role, so flexibility and confidence in delivering planned lessons across different year groups is essential. You will be working closely with class teachers and the senior leadership team to ensure continuity and high standards in the absence of teaching staff.

Ideal Candidate

• Holds HLTA (Higher Level Teaching Assistant) status or significant experience in a similar role
• Confident across all primary key stages
• Committed, adaptable and passionate about childrens' learning
• Able to build strong relationships with pupils and staff
• Must have a DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
