Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for primary schools in Bexley from January 2027. The role involves supporting teachers, delivering planned lessons, and contributing to classroom learning across KS1/KS2.

The successful candidate will have HLTA qualifications or substantial classroom experience, strong classroom management, and a good knowledge of the primary curriculum. Competitive daily pay and local school opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or substantial relevant classroom experience.
• Confidence delivering pre-planned lessons to whole classes.
• Good knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Flexibility to work across different year groups.
• Previous experience providing PPA cover is particularly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class learning during planned teacher absence or PPA cover.
• Deliver targeted interventions in literacy and numeracy.
• Support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
• Adapt activities to meet a range of learning and SEND needs.
• Maintain positive behaviour and a productive classroom environment.
• Work closely with teaching staff to monitor pupil progress.

Location: Bexley, South East London
Start Date: January 2027
Salary: 115- 145 per day
Contract: Full-time, long-term or flexible opportunities
Hours: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:15am-3:30pm
