Randstad UK in Haywards Heath is seeking a Part-Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support learning across year groups. You will lead whole-class sessions using provided plans and support teachers without planning duties.

This role offers a long-term placement with a clear path to permanent contracts in a supportive school environment. Applicants should have HLTA status or Level 4 certificate and strong behaviour management.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience leading a whole class independently (HLTA, Cover Supervisor, or similar).
• HLTA status, Level 4 Certificate, or substantial classroom leadership experience.
• Strong behaviour management skills and ability to establish authority quickly.
• Flexible approach across year groups and subjects.
• Enhanced DBS check on Update Service (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-class sessions and cover planned teacher release using provided lesson plans.
• Deliver engaging lessons, follow curriculum schemes and maintain momentum.
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Collaborate with class teachers, SENCOs and support staff to support all pupils.

Qualifications

Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead a whole class independently (as an HLTA, Cover Supervisor, or Unqualified Teacher).

Relevant Certification: HLTA status, Level 4 Certificate, or substantial classroom-based leadership experience.

Behaviour Management: Strong ability to establish authority quickly and maintain high standards of respect.

Flexibility: An adaptable approach to working across different year groups and subjects.

Compliance: An enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
