Job summary

Justteachers Ltd is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support a Castleford primary school. The role runs on a long-term supply basis until July 27, with responsibilities across Key Stage 2, delivering planned lessons and providing targeted small-group interventions.

The HLTA will support teaching staff, maintain an inclusive learning environment, and help pupils thrive academically and personally during a temporary, full-time placement starting in September.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or equivalent experience covering lessons in a primary school.
• Proven experience as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant in a primary school setting.
• Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum.
• Two education or school-based references.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom cover across Key Stage 2 in the absence of the class teacher.

About the role
