Riverwalk School in Bury St Edmunds is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to support SEND pupils across the school. You will work with groups and individuals to facilitate access to learning, using a range of strategies to meet diverse needs.

The role is permanent and offers a structured induction and CPD opportunities. The post requires enthusiasm, resilience, and a passion for improving outcomes, with safeguarding checks and an enhanced DBS as part of the process.

• Salary:£14.76 per hour
• Hours:31.5 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, 8.45am - 3.15pm, Monday - Friday (plus 1 hour team meeting on Mondays after school hours and half an hours Team Meeting on Thursdays after school hours)

Riverwalk School are looking to appoint Higher Level Teaching Assistants who are and friendly, with a passion for improving outcomes and life experiences for our pupils in the school with SLD and PMLD needs. Applicants will need to be energetic, enthusiastic, and creative, as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun. Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach. Your role is to facilitate access to learning for SEND pupils across the school. You will certainly get your steps in as our site is quite expansive! You will support teaching and learning, working with small groups and one to one as required. This is a challenging role but incredibly rewarding as part of a team which works together to make a real difference to the lives of our children with SEND.

The Consortium Trust demonstrates and implements safeguarding protocols in all aspects of their working practices and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All successful applicants will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS check, and this will include social media checks.

• have some knowledge about SEND

• are passionate about supporting learning characteristics in pupils
• can adhere to policies and procedures and follow GDPR guidelines
• can maintain confidentiality
• have a desire to participate in school and Trust CPD opportunities
• have an awareness of Safeguarding
• are willing to contribute to the wider school through our curriculum enrichment and extended school offer.

Qualifications:

• SEND Experience (preferable)
