Job summary

Trust Education is recruiting on behalf of a primary school in the S63 area for a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA). The role is full-time and temporary, based in Barnsley.

You will support teaching and learning across primary, deliver targeted intervention sessions, and provide occasional class cover while working closely with staff, pupils and parents to promote positive outcomes. The ideal candidate will have HLTA status or relevant experience, with excellent classroom

Qualifications

• Hold a minimum HLTA status or have relevant experience in a similar role.
• Experience working within primary education.
• Able to deliver intervention programmes and small group support.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

Full-Time HLTA Location: Barnsley (S63) Contract Type: Temporary

Role

• Supporting teaching and learning across primary
• Planning, preparing, and delivering targeted intervention work to support pupil progress
• Providing occasional class cover where required
• Working closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging and effective support sessions
• Creating a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment
• Supporting pupils of all abilities and learning needs to achieve their potential
• Working collaboratively with staff, pupils, and parents to support positive outcomes

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Hold a minimum HLTA status or have relevant experience within a similar role (ECTs ideal)
• Have experience working within primary
• Be confident delivering intervention programmes and small group support
• Demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills
• Be reliable, organised, and able to work effectively as part of a team
• Have a proactive and positive approach to supporting teaching and learning
• Be flexible and confident providing class cover when required
