Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting passionate, dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across specialist SEN Schools in Nottingham on long-term and short-term assignments.

This role supports pupils with additional needs, working closely with teachers to deliver engaging and inclusive learning. Experience in education and HLTA qualifications are essential, along with strong communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience in an education setting.
  • HLTA qualification or significant HLTA-level experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Milk Education is recruiting passionate, dedicated, and ambitious Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) to work across specialist SEN Schools in Nottingham on both long-term and short-term assignments.

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced support staff looking to take the next step in their career, playing a key role in supporting pupils with additional needs while working closely with teaching staff to deliver engaging and inclusive learning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver planned lessons and learning activities in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, both within the classroom and through targeted intervention sessions.
  • Adapt learning activities to meet the individual needs and abilities of pupils.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and the wider school team to support pupil progress and wellbeing.
  • Promote positive behaviour, encourage independence, and help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to support ongoing development.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Recent and relevant experience working within an education setting.
  • HLTA qualification or significant experience working at HLTA level.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A confident, proactive, and adaptable approach to supporting teaching and learning.
  • A patient, caring, and enthusiastic attitude with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
